Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer to lead the end-to-end security review of enterprise AI/LLM systems, evaluating architecture, data flows, permissions, and guardrails to enable safe AI adoption. You’ll partner with Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Engineering to scale safeguards.

The role demands threat modeling of AI/LLM deployments, reviewing prompts and configurations, building policy-as-code, and shaping vendor security reviews.

Qualifications

• Seasoned security engineer with AI/LLM security expertise.
• Hands-on threat modeling of AI/LLM apps and agentic systems.
• Experience building AI governance artifacts and vendor risk assessments.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI visibility tools and IAM for non-human identities.
• Ability to build tooling and deploy IaC in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve Affirm's enterprise AI security review process evaluating architecture, data flows, permissions, and design.
• Threat model AI/LLM systems and data flows to identify risks and drive remediation.
• Review source code, prompts, agent configurations, and tool manifests; help owners build security test cases.
• Design and build guardrails and tooling for AI systems, authn/authz, data controls, and policy-as-code.
• Evaluate third-party SaaS vendors for security reviews and drive risk-based adoption decisions.
• Identify emerging AI/agentic vulnerabilities and contribute to incident response playbooks.
• Lead cross-functional AI security initiatives and communicate with technical and executive stakeholders.
