WRITER is seeking a Staff Detection and Response Engineer to protect our AI infrastructure and training Data. You will build advanced detections, automate responses, and coordinate incident response across security and engineering teams.

This role combines hands-on security engineering with strategic threat intelligence. You’ll work with AI Security research, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Security Engineering, and AI researchers to defend one of the most valuable AI platforms in the industry.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response in production environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python, KQL, SPL for custom detections and automation.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and forensic investigation techniques.
• Proactive threat hunting and incident response in distributed environments.
• Align with WRITER's values and collaborate across security, infrastructure, and AI research teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-specific threat detections across distributed infrastructure.
• Develop automated response playbooks to contain threats with minimal human intervention.
• Lead security incident response coordination across Cloud, AppSec, Enterprise, and AI Security teams.
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure.
• Build detection-as-code frameworks with version control and automated deployment.
• Collaborate as the operational security partner for all teams and communicate incidents clearly.
• Maintain 24/7 on-call rotation for critical AI security incidents.
