Job summary

WRITER is seeking a staff detection and response engineer to protect the AI infrastructure powering enterprise transformations. You will build advanced detections for AI-specific threats and create automated responses that scale with rapid growth.

You will lead incident response across teams, translate threat intelligence into production detections, and hunt for vulnerabilities in GPU clusters and distributed training environments. This is AI security at scale.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response, securing AI/ML infrastructure.
• Strong programming in Python, KQL, SPL, or similar for building detections and automations.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and forensic techniques; able to develop detections for novel attacks.
• Self-directed mindset and proactive threat hunting.
• Aligned with WRITER's values and accountable for protecting the AI platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement detection strategies identifying AI-specific threats including prompt injection, model extraction, data poisoning, adversarial examples, and unauthorized access to training datasets or model weights across distributed infrastructure
• Build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows that contain threats without human intervention, creating self-healing systems
• Lead security incident response coordination across teams when AI infrastructure or models are compromised, conducting forensic investigations and drafting incident communications
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure by analyzing model outputs for signs of compromise
• Build detection-as-code frameworks with version control and automated deployment, onboard telemetry from AI training infrastructure and inference endpoints, and dashboards tracking security metrics
• Collaborate cross-functionally as the operational security partner for all teams translating threat research into production detections and enabling secure AI development
• Maintain 24/7 on-call rotation for critical AI security incidents and continuously improve detection coverage and automation
