Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead / Staff Software Development Engineer to drive AI transformation across our product platform. You’ll design and build AI-powered capabilities spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces to help engineering teams ship agentic features reliably.

You will mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews, and shape platform standards while scaling the system for real production workloads.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack ownership.
2+ years building/operating LLM/agent-powered apps in production.
Hands-on experience with CopilotKit or similar in-app agent UI frameworks.
Experience with Deep Agents-style systems: planning, sub-agent orchestration, long-running tasks.
Practical experience with LangSmith for tracing and evaluation.
Hands-on LangGraph for agent orchestration in production.
Strong React/TypeScript frontend with Java and Python backend API design.
Demonstrated technical leadership and platform-team experience.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders without losing details.
Strong communication skills and ability to translate tradeoffs to teams.

Responsibilities

Architect and build full-stack AI capabilities spanning backend, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
Lead design for agent-powered features using CopilotKit and Deep Agents architectures.
Instrument and evaluate agent behavior in production to reduce latency and costs.
Own API design and state synchronization between backend logic and frontend UX.
Mentor engineers on agentic systems and platform thinking.
Ensure platform scalability, cost controls, and multi-tenant isolation under load.
Address production issues end-to-end with tests and monitoring.
