Job summary
Thomson Reuters Corp. is seeking an AI Staff Engineer to help shape Westlaw's AI foundation. You will architect AI-driven systems, lead multi-component pipelines, and mentor engineers while ensuring secure, scalable production deployments across legal research platforms.
You will collaborate with AI researchers, engineering leadership, design, and product teams to convert AI capabilities into customer-facing features. A strong track record in leadership and hands-on AI development is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including senior/lead AI/ML roles.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, RAG, or LLM-based systems.
- Proficiency in Python or another OO language; API design skills.
- Solid ML principles, evaluation methods, and distributed systems knowledge.
- Experience with AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and cloud/Kubernetes tooling.
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring abilities; governance for AI model lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead enterprise-scale AI systems and pipelines.
- Drive adoption of advanced AI techniques with roadmaps and PoCs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across teams.
- Ensure quality, security, and operational excellence for AI solutions.
- Partner with researchers, design, and product to deliver customer-facing AI apps.
