Job summary

G‑P is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to set the technical direction for building, evaluating, and running AI systems. You will stay close to the codebase, write production software, and help engineers deliver high-quality AI-driven features.

You will define architecture, lead design reviews, and mentor engineers while turning ambiguous problems into shipped AI solutions. This remote-first role emphasizes collaboration with product and leadership across global teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and shipping ML systems with leadership in production work.
• Strong Python and production-grade code ownership.
• Hands-on ML/NLP experience, including deep learning and modern LLMs.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks and monitoring models after deployment.
• Strong foundations in statistics, probability and linear algebra.
• Experience building ML services at scale with Docker and AWS including serverless.
• History of making architectural decisions and leading projects without formal authority.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team practices.
• Comfort with ambiguous, open-ended problems.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Write production software for AI systems, design core components for LLM/NLP pipelines.
• Define architecture and engineering standards for AI systems; guide trade-offs between accuracy, cost and speed.
• Lead design and code reviews; mentor engineers and shape hiring/onboarding practices.
• Create reusable foundations: evaluation tooling, deployment pipelines, data practices.
• Turn research into product capabilities by running experiments and partnering with product teams.
• Communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
