Procore Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - AI in Austin, TX. This hybrid role focuses on designing and building production-grade AI capabilities for construction professionals, delivering secure and scalable experiences.

You will lead technical strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to translate customer needs into robust AI solutions.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including cross-functional initiatives.
• 2+ years building and operating production AI or ML systems.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic systems.
• Design distributed, cloud-native software with modern architecture practices.
• Effective communication with technical and nontechnical partners; influence without authority.
• Curious, trusted judgment, customer focus, and collaborative mindset.
• Certifications in cloud or ML are preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsabilidades

• Define the technical strategy and architecture for scalable AI-powered products.
• Lead design and delivery of production-grade generative AI and related systems.
• Partner with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to translate needs into solutions.
• Establish engineering standards for AI quality, observability, security, privacy, and responsible use.
• Evaluate emerging AI models and techniques through experiments and measurement.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
• Identify risks, resolve ambiguities, and make pragmatic trade-offs to accelerate delivery.
• Communicate technical decisions and outcomes to engineering leaders and stakeholders.
