Thomson Reuters is seeking an AI Staff Engineer to shape the AI foundation powering Westlaw experiences. You will build enterprise-scale AI systems, including RAG and knowledge-graph architectures, and lead cross-functional teams across Westlaw engineering.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering with hands-on AI/ML expertise, strong Python, API design, and experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Hybrid work options and global impact await.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (Master's preferred).
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in senior or lead roles on AI/ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, RAG, or LLM-based systems, including discovery, architecture, tools, deployment, and metrics.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python or another object-oriented language, with strong backend service and API design skills.
• Solid understanding of ML principles, evaluation methodologies, and distributed systems, plus experience with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Advanced experience with AWS and with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, plus integrating AI models into large-scale production systems via APIs and data pipelines.

Responsabilités

• Build and architect AI-driven systems at enterprise scale (multi-component pipelines, RAG, knowledge graphs, autonomous agents).
• Drive innovation and technical strategy; evaluate new AI techniques and translate into roadmaps.
• Provide senior technical leadership; mentor engineers and govern AI model lifecycles (MLOps/LLMOps).
• Ensure quality, security, and observability for AI systems; comply with ethical AI and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with AI researchers, engineering, design, and product to deliver customer-facing AI capabilities.
