Robots and Pencils is seeking a Staff AI Builder to lead the design and delivery of AI/ML systems in Mountain View. You will own end-to-end architecture, model development, and integration challenges on a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities include building agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and production prompts, while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. Hybrid onsite with US travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with GenAI/LLM in production.
• Hands-on depth in agentic AI: multi-agent orchestration and tool calling.
• Practical RAG expertise with embeddings, vector databases, and re-ranking.
• Strong prompt engineering with production-grade prompts and constraints.
• Experience with AWS GenAI stack: Bedrock, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions.
• Solid Python and Node.js skills; RESTful APIs and full-stack development.

Responsabilités

• Design and build agentic workflows with multi-agent orchestration.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines and embeddings strategy.
• Integrate with AWS Bedrock and Agent Core; design MCP-based tools.
• Write and iterate production system prompts with constraints.
• Add observability: golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, tracing tools.
• Implement reliability patterns: retries, backoff, circuit breakers.
