Job summary

Mural’s AI Innovation Team is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build the core backend systems that power our agentic AI collaboration platform. You’ll own orchestration, durable execution, memory, tool integration, observability, and evaluation infrastructure to enable agents to reason over product context and act for users.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with reliable production systems.
• Designing and operating distributed systems for complex workflows.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts including tool use and model orchestration.
• Strong focus on production quality, observability, security and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build core backend systems powering Mural’s agent platform, including orchestration, durable execution, tool execution, memory, observability, and evaluation infrastructure
• Design scalable services and APIs to retrieve context, coordinate multi-step workflows, and act reliably for users
• Develop the agent memory layer including conversation and product context retrieval and summarization
• Create infrastructure to monitor, debug, and improve agent behavior via traces, metrics and offline evaluation
• Translate product needs into backend architectures and data models aligned with user value
• Help define the long-term technical direction for agentic AI at Mural
• Mentor others and promote best practices for reliable AI systems
