Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead AI-powered applications on the Workiva platform. You’ll shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive product decisions across teams while delivering secure, scalable software with a strong emphasis on AI-driven workflows.

You’ll work across TypeScript, Java/ Kotlin, and Postgres, solving ambiguous problems and guiding technical strategy to impact a broad set of products.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex systems or products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive 0→1 product development and iteration for AI-powered features.
• Lead architecture and scalable implementations spanning multiple systems.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product/UX to align priorities.
• Balance speed and long-term durability through pragmatic trade‑offs.
