Jobot in SoHo, New York City is seeking a Staff/Senior Software Engineer specializing in Agent Engineering to advance the agent runtime powering our platform's research, analysis, and action capabilities. This is a full-time, in-person role reporting to the CTO and offering significant ownership in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production LLM or agent systems beyond prototypes.
• Ability to diagnose nondeterministic failures and differentiate model judgment from deterministic software.
• Proven skill in determining when workflows require autonomous execution, human approval, or traditional app logic.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance the platform's agent runtime and foundational systems for new agent-driven products.
• Build infrastructure to manage long-running work with visibility, steerability, and connection to projects, people, evidence, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Design and build tool and action framework for safe interactions with internal and external systems.
• Connect agents to retrieval and knowledge systems to ground reasoning in evidence.
