Job summary

Helios is hiring a Staff/Senior Software Engineer, Agent Engineering in New York City. You will own and advance the agent runtime powering Proxi’s research, analysis, and action capabilities, ensuring safe tool use, source-grounded outputs, and scalable agent workflows.

Work closely with the CTO and founding team to push the boundaries of regulated, high-stakes systems, with on-site collaboration in SoHo five days per week.

Qualifications

• Production-grade experience building multi-agent systems.
• Shipping LLM or agent systems beyond prototype stage.
• Ability to diagnose nondeterministic failures and enforce boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own Proxi’s agent runtime and strengthen foundations for new agent-driven products.
• Build tools and actions framework for safe internal and external interactions.
• Connect agents to retrieval and knowledge systems with grounded reasoning.
• Improve evaluation and release discipline for agent behavior and traces.
• Ensure visibility, steerability, and project-context linkage across work.
