Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP in Philadelphia is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Under close supervision, you will perform tax, audit and related assignments for designated clients, with opportunities for hybrid or remote work depending on business needs.

The role emphasizes development of client relationships, research and data analysis, and accurate reporting. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, up to 3 years of experience, and CPA exam progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Up to 1 year of public accounting or 1–3 years in internal accounting.
• CPA exam progress or completed sections is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with good follow-through.
• Able to work under close supervision and accept feedback.
• Able to collaborate and contribute to a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and report writing tools.
• Professional demeanor with clients and coworkers.
• Adherence to firm deadlines (time entry).
• Willingness to travel domestically as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete tax and/or audit engagements for designated clients.
• Identify potential problem areas during engagements.
• Conduct business research, analyze data, and prepare reports for principals.
• Develop client relationships with professionalism and follow-through.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
