Job summary

ABM Industries in Sugar Land, TX is seeking an accounting professional to support general accounting within the Enterprise Service Center. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, and analysis of expenses, cash, and balance sheet accounts, ensuring internal controls and accurate financial reporting.

You will collaborate with accounting managers and field operations, use Oracle Cloud Finance tools, Excel, and Power BI for reporting, and help prepare schedules for audits and SOX

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of Record-to-Report and accounting experience in a Shared Services environment.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Finance (OCF) GL, OCF PPM, OCF Smart View, OCF Reports, ARCS, and Enterprise Journals preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI experience is a plus.
• Understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Review expense dashboards (credit cards, utilities, etc.) to analyze variances and budgets.
• Support Operations/Fields Managers with AP, prepaid expenses, commissions, and other expenses; provide financial analysis.
• Compile Tax Year End Schedule (YES) data for tax reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations for cash, bank, AP, prepaid expenses, and other expense accounts; support monthly financial statements.
• Assist with schedules and documentation for management reports, external auditors, and SOX compliance.
• Ensure Record-to-Report processes have defined accountabilities and timely close.
• Drive process improvements across R2R processes; participate in cross-training as needed.
• Maintain policies, systems, and adherence to company guidelines.
