Fervo Energy is seeking a Staff Accountant, General Accounting to support the Assistant Controller in monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation across entities. This is an excellent early-career role for an accountant who wants to build public-company close and controls experience in a fast-growing energy infrastructure company.

The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and support core close and general ledger activities, including cash

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or GL experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, debits and credits, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Proficient Excel (lookups, pivots) with multi-tab workbooks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet close deadlines.
• Clear written communication and documentation of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Complete assigned close tasks on schedule and communicate status, dependencies, and blockers.
• Gather support from Accounts Payable, Treasury, Operations Accounting, and other teams to ensure entries are complete and properly supported.
• Assist with preparation of monthly flux analyses and account roll forwards for review by leadership.
• Support the use of close management, reconciliation, ERP, and automation tools and suggest process improvements.
