Job summary

IBARRA CARRILLO SOTO CPAs + ADVISORS is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our CPA firm. You will manage a broad range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy of financial data and supporting regulatory compliance.

This role offers exposure to public accounting, hands-on reconciliations, and opportunities to develop technical accounting skills while supporting partners and clients. QuickBooks/Xero experience is required, and knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in public accounting or similar.
• Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Xero required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing financial data and ensuring accuracy in reports.
• Maintain and update accounting software platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
• Contribute to process improvements to optimize workflows and data integrity.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure 1099/W-9 compliance.
• Close books and deliver tax-ready financials and balance sheet analyses.
