Job summary

Four Seasons New York seeks a Staff Accountant to support the Assistant Director of Finance, maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will supervise payroll, accounts payable and cashiering in accordance with local policies and corporate procedures.

Ideal candidates have a college degree and 2+ years of accounting management experience, with strong Excel skills and knowledge of Sun, Opera and BirchStreet Systems.

Qualifications

• College degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in hotel accounting and payroll is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll, accounts payable and general cashiering under the Assistant Director of Finance.
• Maintain general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations in line with policies.
• Support internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and resources.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Coordinate month-end close and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Develop Finance Department staff to support future growth.
• Maintain knowledge of the Accounting & Finance Manual and USALI guidelines.
• Prepare and review the Daily Revenue Report and related reconciliations.
• Collaborate with other departments and Home Office as needed.
• Assist in other accounting office areas as required.
