33 Seaport Hotel NYC is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller with daily and monthly accounting tasks, reporting, and compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and maintaining financial integrity for the hotel.

Key duties include monthly journal entries, accounts payable support, ledger reporting, and reconciliations. Preferred candidates have at least two years of related experience, ideally in hospitality, with a competitive hourly compensation range in NYC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience.
• Experience working in hospitality industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing reports that summarize, forecast, and analyze hotel business activity and financial position.
• Assist with cashier audits and ensure accuracy.
• Complete Daily Income Journal Reconciliation balancing to PMS / POS Reports
• Prepares month-end journal entries for Assistant Controller / Controller review
• Provide support for accounts payable during vacancies or absences.
• Perform various accounting office tasks as assigned.
• Distribute weekly General Ledger detail reports to department managers.
• Review and reconcile contract labor in Work Records if applicable
• Process individual Travel Agent commissions and submit to TACS / AP.
• Balance A/P Open Items report weekly before check runs.
• Review Tax Exemptions
• Follow hotel policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
