Job summary

The University of Vermont Foundation is seeking a Staff Accountant to support vendor disbursements, expenses, cash receipts, and bank deposits. The role emphasizes payroll processing and maintaining employee records within our HCM system, leveraging strong Excel skills to improve financial operations.

This on-site, full-time position offers an anticipated salary range of $70,000–$75,000 and a progressive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; non-profit / higher ed experience preferred.
• Experience with bookkeeping, cash receipts, payroll/benefits.
• Ability to create spreadsheets from large data sets.
• Strong attention to detail and IRS/compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor disbursements, expenses, and accounts payable.
• Process cash receipts, daily deposits, and feeds reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing and employee records in the HCM system.
• Ensure timely 1099 filings and reporting.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
