Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting across a growing portfolio of entities. The role expands beyond traditional AP to include payroll, reconciliations, tax compliance, and month-end close.

You will gain exposure to multiple entities and ERP optimization while collaborating with finance, operations, and venue leadership to strengthen accounting operations as the organization grows.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with full-cycle accounts payable.
• Experience working in a cloud-based ERP or accounting system.
• Strong Excel skills including pivots, lookups, and reconciliations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions across multiple entities using a cloud-based ERP platform.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9 documentation, and 1099 compliance.
• Administer corporate credit card programs, including coding, receipt collection, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate invoice approvals and payment workflows with operational leaders.
• Support vendor communication and payment-related inquiries.
• Process semi-monthly multi-state payroll.
• Validate payroll inputs, employee changes, benefit deductions, and timekeeping records.
• Support payroll tax compliance and state registration requirements.
• Partner with HR and operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly close activities through accruals, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Reconcile operational and payroll-related data to the general ledger.
• Assist with customer invoicing and collections tracking.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Support ongoing ERP optimization initiatives.
• Document accounting procedures and workflows.
• Strengthen control processes and approval workflows.
• Assist with accounting process improvements as the organization grows.
