Job summary

Plaas Incorporated, located in Red Wing, MN, seeks a Staff Accountant to perform accounting for two affiliated entities and support the CFO. This full-time, in-person role offers a path to handle month-end close, budgeting, and audits.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 2+ years of experience (3+ preferred), strong GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, and experience with construction ERP software like Foundation Software. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in a construction or industrial environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and statements.
• Knowledge of internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Strong proficiency in Excel (formulas, reconciliations, and financial analysis).
• Experience with Foundation Software or other construction accounting/ERP software is a plus.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and implement appropriate resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting for two affiliated companies.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer receipts.
• Perform monthly bank, account, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes and journal entries.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with financial data and analysis.
• Assist with audits by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
• Maintain internal accounting controls and procedures.
• Maintain fixed asset records (acquisitions, disposals, depreciation).
• Assist with banking, cash management, and related records.
• Assist with business insurance administration and related records.
• Provide accounting support to the CFO and participate in special projects.
