Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Staff Accountant in Mount Upton, NY to join our accounting and finance team. The role covers month-end close, journal entries, AP, AR, and GAAP-compliant financial management, with emphasis on accuracy and internal controls.

You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, analyze budgets, reconcile accounts, and coordinate with tax and external auditors. Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance required; proficiency in Excel a must.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience communicating financial matters to management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including AP, AR, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Conduct month-end close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
• Develop and document accounting processes to maintain internal controls.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and liaise with Tax Accountant and Auditor.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accounting records.
• Analyze budgets and prepare expense reports.
• Handle tax payments and returns as needed.
• Support annual operating budgets and projections.
