Job summary

American Consolidated Industries in Cleveland is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily transaction review, invoicing, fixed-asset accounting, month-end close, and audits under the Controller.

You will work closely with Accounting, Commercial, and Operations teams, building technical accounting skills and advancing toward greater responsibility through hands-on experience in ERP, SQL reporting, and standard monthly close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Zero to three years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls is expected.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems; SQL reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review daily cash postings for accuracy and prepare banking reports.
• Review and issue customer invoices and credit memos.
• Prepare daily profitability reports.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries in the ERP system.
• Prepare workpapers and reconcile GL accounts to subledgers; resolve differences.
• Prepare weekly sales trends and performance reports.
• Support month-end close and tax filings, ensuring deadlines.
• Assist with audits and liaison with cross-functional teams.
