Oceanview Life and Annuity Company in Denver, CO, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role supports the accounting and financial reporting for Oceanview Life and Annuity Company and affiliated entities.

The Staff Accountant will handle cash transactions, reconciliations, journal entries, premium tax reporting, insurance accounting, monthly close, statutory reporting, and audit support, collaborating across Accounting and Finance teams.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; final semester candidates may be considered.
• 1–2 years accounting experience preferred; relevant internship or co‑op experience may be considered.
• Foundational understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Previous experience with statutory accounting or within life/financial services is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, including ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data.
• Experience with a general ledger system is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Prepare and record journal entries and general ledger activity for Oceanview and affiliated entities.
• Prepare reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Assist monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes.
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for unusual activity.
• Maintain accounting records and documentation in accordance with policies.
• Assist intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Prepare cash transactions and wire transfers.
• Record and reconcile daily insurance‑related activity.
• Assist with premium tax calculations and payments.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and NAIC reporting.
• Support external audits and respond with documentation.
• Follow internal controls and improve processes.
