Job summary

Oliver James Group in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own US GAAP and statutory accounting for life insurance entities, reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

You will prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support quarterly and annual financial reporting, statutory reporting, and external audits.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of US insurance accounting experience, life/annuity exposure, and CPA or equivalent is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of US insurance accounting experience.
• Life/annuity/health insurance industry experience preferred.
• Understanding of US GAAP + Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Blue Book / statutory statement experience desirable.
• Strong Excel / MS Office skills.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• CPA or accounting qualification a plus.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

We're working a growing life insurance platform focused on retirement and annuity solutions, on a Senior Accountant opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

This is a great opportunity for an insurance accountant who wants to take ownership across GAAP, STAT, financial reporting and statutory accounting, while gaining direct exposure to senior leadership in a growing business.
