Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company, is seeking a Staff Accountant II to prepare daily, monthly, quarterly accounting entries and finalize key financial reporting to Regulatory Authorities, the International Corporate Parent and Internal Management. This role collaborates across the Finance team to ensure accurate results.

The position requires solid GAAP/IFRS knowledge, strong Excel and Cognos/Oracle skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment from Amelia,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years accounting, internal audit, or financial statement experience.
• Public accounting or insurance industry experience preferred.
• CPA, CIA, CISA, CPCU, ARM, AIAF or related designation progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and analyze financial results.
• Coordinate general accounting tasks and maintain process documentation.
• Improve efficiencies in workflows and reporting for Specialty Clients.
• Prepare/ analyze commission and contingent commission results for Sales and stakeholders.
• Prepare/ review accruals for contingent commissions within close timelines.
• Prepare/ review contingent and incentive payments per contract terms.
• Handle complex reconciliations and ad hoc analyses as needed.
