Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company, seeks a Staff Accountant II to support the Accounting Team with daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting entries and regulatory reporting. The position emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and cross‑functional collaboration.

The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, reporting to regulators and internal management, and ad hoc analyses. Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge and Oracle/Cognos experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Two or more years of accounting, internal audit, or financial statement audit experience.
• Public accounting, large corporate accounting/internal audit, property and casualty insurance, or MGA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries for accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate general accounting tasks and ensure training and process documentation.
• Optimize workflows and reporting for Specialty Clients business.
• Prepare and review commission and contingent commission results with Sales and stakeholders.
• Prepare/accrue contingent commissions monthly within close timelines.
• Review contingent and incentive payments, ensuring contract terms and data source validation.
• Monitor and review complex reconciliations and participate in ad hoc analyses.
