Job summary

Father Joe’s Villages is seeking a Staff Accountant II to strengthen our financial foundation and ensure accurate monthly close processes. You will manage general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies and support audits.

You’ll bring a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit documentation practices.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and complete monthly reconciliations and close activities.
• Analyze account balances and financial variances, investigate discrepancies, and resolve errors to maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare account schedules, financial analyses, and supporting documentation for internal reporting and year-end audits.
• Reconcile intercompany and cash accounts, research unusual activity, and resolve outstanding items.
• Partner with internal departments to address accounting issues and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.
• Apply accounting policies and internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen accuracy, and increase efficiency.
• Maintain accounting procedures and provide guidance to teammates on assigned processes and systems.
