PTR Global is seeking a Staff Accountant I for a 6-month engagement in Urbandale, Iowa. The role is an experienced contributor position with minimal supervision, focusing on managing accounting workstreams and end-to-end processes to drive accurate execution and improve performance.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in accounting operations or finance operations with ability to operate independently.
• Proven ability to own and manage end-to-end processes or projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnering skills.

Responsibilities

• Work independently with minimal supervision by taking ownership of tasks, priorities, and deliverables; set clear goals and execute plans to achieve them.
• Manage entire projects or processes, including developing plans, setting milestones, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely, successful outcomes.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to peers and junior colleagues by sharing expertise, best practices, and insights.
• Communicate effectively within and outside the job function, including with external customers, vendors, and stakeholders; share updates clearly and resolve inquiries professionally.
• Influence operational practices and procedures by presenting recommendations, promoting effective approaches, and collaborating with stakeholders to align practices across functions.
• Solve complex, multifaceted problems by gathering information, analyzing root causes and interdependencies, and applying critical thinking to develop solutions.
• Conduct in-depth analysis using prior experience and scenario-based evaluation to assess impacts and determine the best path forward.
• Contribute directly to department results by collaborating across teams, aligning efforts with stakeholders, and sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall performance.
