Job summary

PTR Global in Urbandale, IA is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Accounting Operations team as an individual contributor who can own processes and deliver results with minimal supervision. Hybrid role: 3 days onsite, enabling close collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders while maintaining independent ownership of end-to-end accounting tasks.

You will analyze complex financial issues, drive process improvements, train peers, and ensure documentation and controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction processing.
• Ability to work independently and manage end-to-end processes or projects.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage accounting tasks, priorities, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Own end-to-end accounting processes and projects, including planning, milestones, tracking, and delivery.
• Analyze complex accounting and operational issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
• Provide guidance, training, and best practices to peers and junior team members.
• Partner with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Analyze business and operational impacts and recommend improvements to accounting procedures.
• Monitor process performance and contribute to department goals through effective execution and collaboration.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure work is completed in accordance with established policies and controls.
