Job summary

Byrna Technologies seeks a Staff Accountant I to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. You will manage general ledger activities, assist with month‑end close, and support audits across the organization.

The role requires knowledge of GAAP, at least two years of accounting experience, and proficiency in Excel and NetSuite or similar ERP. Tax compliance coordination with external firms will also be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of two years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or product-based environments.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite; tax coordination knowledge.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger management: prepare journal entries and maintain ledgers across accounts and subsidiaries.
• Balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
• Produce variance analyses and ad hoc financial reports for management decision‑making.
• Support GAAP compliance and assist with Form 10‑Q filings and audit responses.
• Maintain property tax and sales/use tax filing calendars and coordinate with tax preparers.
• Provide AR backup for payment processing and invoicing support.
• Contribute to special accounting projects to improve processes and efficiency.
