Job summary

Benshaw Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, general ledger, monthly close, and financial reporting. You will collaborate across departments to analyze data, improve processes, and ensure GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting assistance, audits support, and involvement with Accounts Payable/Receivable. Previous manufacturing accounting and ERP experience with IFS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• ERP experience required (IFS preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support external audits by preparing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties, along with special projects as assigned.
