Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Staff Accountant to bolster accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end close activities.

The role collaborates with the accounting and finance teams to provide timely, GAAP-compliant financial information that supports business decisions and internal controls across the organization in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Review transactions for compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure timely filing and compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial objectives.
