Tighe & Bond in Westfield, MA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Hybrid Accounting Team. You’ll support AR, AP, project accounting, billing, and month-end close across a variety of projects, with room to grow professionally.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in accounting or related field, 2–3 years of accounting experience, and a keen eye for detail. Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience in a company setting.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts and controls.
• Experience with accounts receivable, collections, project accounting, billing, reconciliations, or month-end close preferred.
• Comfort learning accounting systems, working in Excel, and researching discrepancies.
• Ability to manage details and deadlines and communicate professionally with internal teams and external clients.
• Curiosity, follow-through, accuracy, and a customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts receivable, collections, project accounting, accounts payable, and general accounting activities
• Maintain client and project information, and assist with unit pricing and billing
• Follow up on collections and prepare bank reconciliations
• Research and set up vendors, and route vendor invoices
• Assist with month-end edit checks and close procedures
