Job summary

Brailsford & Dunlavey, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in the Washington, DC area. This hybrid role combines hands-on accounting with exposure to Workday implementation and multi-entity operations.

You will prepare reconciliations, assist with month-end close, and analyze financial data to support business decisions. A BA/BS in accounting or related field and 2–3 years of experience are required; strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis.
• Experience with Workday or similar ERP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer billing accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity and assist with collections as needed.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation.
