Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Accessories Division in Monroe, NC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. You will support monthly close activities, prepare journal entries, and assist with accounts payable via GL coding to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, macros) and the ability to work with multiple data sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 2-3 years of professional work experience in financial and accounting initiatives.
• Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, macros).
• Experience with multiple data systems for data retrieval and analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners.
• Limited travel up to 5% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with precision.
• Support Accounts Payable activities by GL Coding invoices.
• Assist in the month-end close process for timely financial reporting.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
• Prepare and analyze sales and use tax returns.
• Contribute to special projects with financial expertise.
• Assess and improve day-to-day procedures and controls.
• Respond to ad hoc information requests and reports.
• Work collaboratively in a team to meet deadlines.
