Job summary

LRS is seeking a Staff Accountant in Rosemont, IL to support the accounting department in monthly close processes. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain fixed asset records while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.

The role requires 1–3 years of accounting experience, a finance or accounting degree, and strong Excel skills. CPA is a plus, with opportunities to grow within a safety‑driven, environmental services leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
• Complete balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Process expense reports and assist with audits.
• Support external auditors with required documentation.
