Job summary

Blue Signal Search seeks a motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and strengthen the general ledger. You will collaborate with finance leadership and operations to ensure accurate records and timely month-end close.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of accounting experience and strong Excel skills, with attention to detail and initiative to streamline processes. Onsite first, with potential hybrid flexibility after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1–4 years of practical accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, trial balances, and month-end close.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to organize financial information.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, dependable work ethic, and able to take ownership of recurring accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, and other recurring activities.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain reliable records.
• Participate in month-end closing, review account balances, and prepare supporting documents.
• Review trial balances and identify inconsistencies requiring research or corrections.
• Maintain accounting documentation and support internal controls and procedures.
• Collaborate with leadership and operations to resolve accounting questions and changing needs.
• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring accounting activities and improve efficiency.
