Job summary

Courtworks Sports Center is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the accounting department with day-to-day financial tasks and data entry. You will work under the General Manager to ensure accurate reporting and records.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and strong communication skills to interact with management and visitors alike. This on-site position offers exposure to a dynamic recreation destination in Waterloo, IA.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred (or acceptable experience in lieu of degree)
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Must have experience in accrual accounting
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
• Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience using QuickBooks and Dynamics (preferred)
• Well organized and thorough with the ability to multi-task
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• Team approach to task completion

Responsibilities

• Create and present weekly and monthly financial reporting to the General Manager
• Maintain financial records and general ledger
• Cash handling, bank deposits and reconciliation
• Collections and Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable, Receivable and Journal Entries
• Point of Sale reconciliation
• Prepare monthly Expense Reports and month end close
• Provide administrative support related to contracts, certificates of insurance, W9 forms, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and callers by resolving information requests, directing to the appropriate parties or taking messages
• Perform general office duties, such as ordering office supplies, maintaining database systems, and distributing mail
• Other duties as assigned by management
