Job summary

Courtworks Sports Center in Waterloo, IA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the accounting team with daily financial tasks and data entry, reporting directly to the General Manager.

You will maintain the general ledger, manage accounts payable/receivable, cash handling, and assist with month-end close and financial reporting, while delivering professional, service-oriented support to internal partners and visitors.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred (or acceptable experience in lieu of degree).
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Experience in accrual accounting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience using QuickBooks and Dynamics (preferred).
• Well organized and thorough with the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Team approach to task completion.

Responsibilities

• Create and present weekly and monthly financial reporting to the General Manager.
• Maintain financial records and general ledger.
• Cash handling, bank deposits and reconciliation.
• Collections and Accounts Receivable.
• Accounts Payable, Receivable and Journal Entries.
• Point of Sale reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly Expense Reports and month end close.
• Maintain record keeping and provide administrative support related to contracts, certificates of insurance, W-9 forms.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and callers.
