Job summary

Courtworks Sports Center in Waterloo, IA seeks a Staff Accountant to support the accounting department with daily data entry and financial reporting. You will help maintain the general ledger, process AP/AR, and assist with month-end close, reporting to the General Manager.

The role requires accrual accounting experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Excel, QuickBooks and Dynamics. This full-time position offers a collaborative, service-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred (or acceptable experience in lieu of degree)
• 2–4 years of related experience
• Experience with accrual accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience using QuickBooks and Dynamics preferred
• Well organized with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Team approach to task completion

Responsibilities

• Create and present weekly and monthly financial reporting to the General Manager
• Maintain financial records and general ledger
• Cash handling, bank deposits and reconciliation
• Collections and Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable, Receivable and Journal Entries
• Point of Sale reconciliation
• Prepare monthly Expense Reports and month-end close
• Provide administrative support related to contracts, certificates of insurance, W-9 forms, etc.
