Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected East Bay organization to hire a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Concord, CA. This role offers the chance to work closely with finance leaders and gain exposure to general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and knowledge of GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures.
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities.
• Analyze transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audit requests and compliance-related activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with operations and department leaders on accounting matters.
