Job summary

Orange County Rescue Mission is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support across the Hurtt Family Health Clinic via Shared Services. The role requires accurate data entry, monthly reconciliations, and timely grant invoicing.

The position emphasizes cross-training, vendor management, and collaboration across departments to ensure compliant financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Experience in accounting with accounts payable preferred.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy in financial data entry.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic data entry skills.
• Experience with Great Plains or similar ERP software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly and entering required journal entries.
• Entering bank transactions and reconciling bank accounts.
• Preparing standard monthly journal entries including A/R-related entries.
• Preparing grant-related invoices and tracking grant expenses/revenue.
• Maintaining backups for grants and coordinating with grant writers.
• Auditing petty cash funds and assisting with ad hoc projects.
• Tracking and updating Gift-In-Kind schedules and inventory testing in GP.
• Processing vendor invoices and preparing weekly check runs.
