Job summary

Methode Electronics, Inc. in Southfield, MI is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closes in a SOX-compliant environment.

You will work with the US Shared Service Center to maintain accurate financial records and provide analysis for close and reporting processes. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1+ years of general accounting experience, with proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in general accounting.
• Experience with multinational publicly traded companies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and close processes.
• Team player with ability to collaborate across functions and regions.
• Organized and detail oriented; analytical thinker.
• Willingness to receive coaching and apply it to improve skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end close tasks and ensure timely close.
• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations for global divisions.
• Provide data for daily close dashboards and management reports.
• Support SEC reporting schedules and footnote analyses.
• Assist with external audits and SOX controls compliance.
• Collaborate with global finance teams on transaction flows.
