Job summary

Staff Accountant needed at MCLJASCO in Detroit to manage the General Ledger for all programs and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role combines government and corporate accounting experience and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities include data entry into QuickBooks and our custom accounting software, payroll processing, month-end close, reconciliations, and GAAP research with the CPA as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with executive and senior management.
• Proven leadership skills to motivate diverse teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and consolidated statements during month-end close.
• Maintain and analyze the general ledger; perform reconciliations.
• Collaborate with reporting, budgeting and forecasting teams.
• Provide GAAP research support with the CPA as required.
• Review and reconcile AR for governmental clients.
