Job summary

ReliaQuest is seeking a Staff Accountant in Tampa, FL to join our finance team. The role requires hands-on accounting under US GAAP, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to policies and controls.

The successful candidate will monitor receivables, support monthly closes, prepare journal entries, and assist with audits while maintaining strong internal controls and high-quality service to internal departments.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and well organized.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the company's accounts receivables, contact customers to arrange payment and resolve customer issues causing delays.
• Prepare regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and progress towards collection.
• Review company transactions (e.g. revenue, costs) and supporting documentation, and ensure accurately recorded in the company's financial systems.
• Perform monthly close tasks.
• Prepare journal entries with sufficient documentation and support.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
• Provide research and analysis to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Answer inquiries from vendors, employees and customers.
• Prepare documentation for the annual financial audits.
• Assist with the purchase order process.
• Provide a high level of customer service to internal departments.
