Job summary

MonkeySports is seeking a Staff Accountant to independently manage core accounting functions, ensure GAAP compliance, and maintain accurate financial records across a multi-entity retail and ecommerce environment.

In this role you will lead assigned components of the monthly close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, drive audit readiness, and partner cross-functionally to improve processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience with close and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in GAAP and basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Lead assigned aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations as assigned.
• Administer lease accounting schedules and entries in ASC 842.
