Job summary

EmblemHealth is seeking an accounting professional to support the monthly close, perform journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will partner with FP&A, IT, Operations, HR, and other internal teams to strengthen controls and drive process improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with 2-3+ years of experience; proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA/MSA preferred.
• 2-3+ years of relevant professional work experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for month end close.
• Ensure all entries and reconciliations are complete, accurate and GAAP-compliant.
• Identify data/process discrepancies and report them as needed.
• Provide supporting financial analysis and documentation to internal partners.
• Prepare documentation for auditors and CMS/DOH/DFS audits.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate across departments to strengthen internal controls.
