Job summary

Established construction company is seeking a Staff Accountant with a strong Accounts Payable focus to join the North Atlanta/Gwinnett team. You will manage full AP cycles, vendor documentation, and job-cost coding while supporting month-end close and growth into a leadership role within the accounting group.

The position offers long-term stability, on-site work in the North Atlanta area, and opportunities to contribute across the accounting function as the department scales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of construction accounting experience; 2+ years strongly preferred.
• Hands-on, full-cycle Accounts Payable experience with real volume.
• Experience with job cost coding in a construction environment.
• Strong Excel skills and solid accounting judgment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Polished, professional communication and self-starter mindset.
• Interest in a long-term role with room to grow.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle AP process from invoice receipt through payment.
• Manage vendor documentation (W-9s, COIs, lien waivers/releases).
• Apply accurate job cost coding to invoices and payables.
• Handle invoice follow-up, discrepancies, and issue resolution.
• Perform AP and vendor account reconciliations.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and internal staff.
• Support subcontractor compliance tracking and high-volume invoice processing.
• Assist month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Grow into a trusted right-hand role within the accounting team.
